The new Living Colour
album is out around the world! After a ten year silence (of sorts), the
band returns triumphantly with Collide0Scope!
It will be great to finally have an official website from which
fans can get the word on LC straight from the horse's mouth. The site
looks like it will include a store with merchandise as well, for all those
who want to buy official stuff.
As this is a fan website, I will try to keep putting up news here
as well, to keep the word out on this amazing band. Also, I'd like to give
a shout here to some of other great fan sites out there...
www.livingcolournet.com and livingcolour.blogspot.com
In case you need a shortcut
to help you get the band's music, I've created a page that links to CD Universe.com for all of their albums,
and I will soon add links to Amazon (America and Britain).
Finally, I have completed
my review of Collide0Scope, read it here

Living Colour signed with
Sanctuary Records in November 2002, so it looks like the new album will be
released on one of the Sanctuary labels. Sanctuary is the home of prog
legends King Crimson and the soulful Alison Moyet, among others.
Living Colour was
scheduled to return to Nova Sound (Doug's studio) in late November to
continue recording for the new album.
Doug co-wrote and played
bass on the title song on the soundtrack to the movie "Brown
Sugar", released September 24.
Vernon and DJ Logic's
Yohimbe Brothers project released the album "Front End Lifter"
on September 10, and toured the United States. A page with pictures from
that tour is at http://samchillian.com/yohimbetour02/yohimbetour02.html
. Front End Lifter is an eclectic, futuristic mix of electronica, rock
with jazzy touches, soul, hip-hop and many other things, definitely
something to hear! Also, a flash animation of Vernon and Logic can be
found at http://www.meatlockerstudios.com/yobro.htm
.
Will is scheduled to
perform at the Blue Note in NYC on 30 December. I read somewhere (can't
remember where) that Will would be doing a show that will be recorded for
his next jazz CD on the Blue Note label, maybe this is it? Will has been
playing over the last couple of months with Pharoah Sanders in Europe. He
is also scheduled to play with Stanley Jordan in Nerac, France on 21
February at FESTIVAL LA GUITARE DANS TOUS SES ETATS.
The Sundance film
organization has awarded Will a fellowship to produce film scores.
Word is that the Black Jack
Johnson CD will be released in early 2003. Black Jack Johnson teams Will
and Doug with Mos Def, Dr. Know & Bernie Worrell.
Reunion `81, the film
that Corey acted in, debuted in San Francisco in November. Information on
this film can be found at www.reunion81.com
